Lewis Hamilton Brings Afrofuturism to Dior
Lewis Hamilton isn’t just rewriting the rules of racing—he’s redefining modern menswear. For Fall 2025, the seven-time Formula 1 world champion steps into a new role as guest designer and global ambassador for Dior, unveiling a capsule collection that blends bold cultural storytelling with technical finesse.
Drawing on his travels across Africa and inspired by the philosophy of Afrofuturism, Hamilton delivers a lineup that reimagines Black identity, self-expression, and forward-thinking design—through the lens of Dior’s heritage and haute savoir-faire.

Dior x Lewis Hamilton: A Debut Capsule with Impact
The collection is a masterclass in contrasts: think sharply tailored jackets, reflective tech tracksuits, oversized knitwear, laser-cut fabrics, and Dior’s signature tweed reinvented in a leopard motif. Standout pieces include an Oblique cardigan-jacket—a modern twist on a 1968 Miss Dior silhouette—and reversible hoodies that fuse African-inspired patterns with technical canvas textures. The silhouettes shift between relaxed and structured, echoing Hamilton’s philosophy of versatility and self-liberation.
Accessories That Push the Dialogue Further
The accessories are just as forward-thinking. Sneakers like the B44 Blade come in silver metallic gradients, featuring mountaineering rope-style laces. Bags, including reimagined “Dior Hit The Road” models, are crafted from recycled materials with the Oblique monogram and utilitarian rope handles. Even the footwear—whether derby shoes or boots—leans sustainable, using plant-based or recycled fabrics like washed velvet and canvas.

Beyond Style: A Cultural Reset
What sets this collection apart isn’t just the design—it’s the purpose behind it. With this capsule, Hamilton uses his global platform to push luxury fashion into a more inclusive future—where cultural diversity isn’t curated, but embodied. Afrofuturism here is more than an aesthetic choice; it challenges Dior to expand its creative language. The collection is about identity, disruption, and reimagining the future of Black culture—while subtly reworking the codes of luxury.
Sustainability also plays a quiet but integral role. Without flashy slogans, Dior avoids leather in favor of certified, partially recycled materials across the board—from sneakers to bags—proving that ethics and exceptional craftsmanship can co-exist seamlessly.
“For me, fashion is an expression of identity,” Hamilton shares at the collection’s launch. “This capsule is about the fusion of athleticism and elegance, past and future, tradition and innovation.” And it shows—down to every last stitch.

From Tommy Hilfiger to Dior: Hamilton’s Fashion Evolution
Hamilton’s love for fashion has never been subtle. For years, he’s been a front-row regular and red carpet standout. His previous design experience includes his multi-season collaboration with Tommy Hilfiger (TommyXLewis), running from 2018 to 2020—focused on streetwear, inclusivity, and sustainability.
But this Dior capsule marks a new chapter. It’s Hamilton’s first collaboration with a storied Parisian maison—and it signals a more mature, tailored sensibility. Together with Dior Men’s Artistic Director Kim Jones, Hamilton has crafted a collection that weaves personal and cultural narratives: from Afrofuturist cues and British tailoring to subtle nods to the aesthetic codes of Formula 1. The result isn’t just a style statement—it’s a reflection of Hamilton’s heritage, vision, and undeniable influence.
